John 7:1-2,10,25-30
A very happy Friday to you. This is not gospel related but would you join me for a special prayer request? I was asked to say a little prayer for the dating world. It is pretty bad out there. Finding an eligible person is as challenging as finding a needle in a haystack. First people meet online which is meeting an algorithm before you meet the eligible person and then, the aliens take over. One of our neighbors said “you gotta pray for Grayson, the aggressive ones are not the boys anymore..” Anyway that has nothing to do with church and spirituality or why you are here. But a little prayer by all goes a long way. By the way it is the same with looking for jobs. You cannot just walk up to a job and hand them your resume.
In today’s gospel passage Jesus faces a challenge. There were people in Jesus life who always brought up his upbringing or his family and tried to use it to stop Jesus from fully becoming, fully stepping into his role. If you know someone who constantly beats you down with the past, I want you to rise higher and higher. It is said that a crow pecks on the eagle but the eagles rises higher and higher until the crow cannot breathe and falls off. We at Rabbouni have kept rising despite our falls, despite what the nay sayers said. Be like Jesus and let them talk, on your part become better and better.
