Matthew 23:13-22

Jesus said: ‘Alas for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You who shut up the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces, neither going in yourselves nor allowing others to go in who want to.

I just don’t understand how it is already August 26th. I tell these days are moving faster in my opinion. For our spiritual practice today I want us to draw our attention to self awareness. Following the spiritual practices of many leaders I do have to say that the more we are aware of ourselves the holier we become. Now if you are a good catholic you are already thinking of your deficiencies. What can you do better? How about we change it up. Are you aware of the good news about yourself. I heard this prayer a long time ago and I have returned to it many a time. “Lord help me accept the truth about my life no matter how good it is.” Try that one and see how the divine begins to shine in you.
