Luke 10:25-37

There was a lawyer who, to disconcert Jesus, stood up and said to him, ‘Master, what must I do to inherit eternal life?’

Today we celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of The Rosary. This feast brings back memories of my life at St John The Baptist in Kafue, Zambia. It was a custom at this church to arrive 20 minutes or more before Mass and the whole church would recite the rosary. The practice of praying and meditating on the different mysteries I believe was the bedrock of my early spirituality. Pray the Rosary folks!!

This lawyer wanted to know what he should do and how he should behave in order to inherit the kingdom. Our Lord responded by asking him to be a good neighbor, to be a like a Good Samaritan. This Samaritan saw someone in need and he responded with kindness no questions asked. Listen if our religion makes us unkind to anyone maybe we need to rethink it.
