Luke 19:38-43
Jesus came to a village, and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house. She had a sister called Mary, who sat down at the Lord’s feet and listened to him speaking.
So our Lord had friends he could visit and simply be. In this space they probably gave him a friendly name and were most accommodating. We all need spaces and people who allow us to unwind. Hopefully most of us get that at home but it is probably better to find another space where we can refuel.
The danger comes if we do not learn and always end up in the house of a one upper. In those cases we leave exhausted and wonder why we come back for more punishment. Today may you let your Martha and Mary that you find their company refreshing.
